Traditionally, many people vacation in the summertime. I find it fascinating that people like to do different things on vacation. This is a quick, light icebreaker you can use at the beginning of a team meeting to learn about your team and have a little fun while sharing about your favorite vacations.

The easiest way to do this is to simply ask, “If you won a one-week vacation, where would you go and what would you do?”

Another option is to share this slide and ask the same question. In this slide, five common types of vacations are represented: cruise, beach, amusement park, city exploration, and outdoor adventure.

Summertime Virtual Team Meetings

People may start to get tripped up in the specifics, such as:

  • Is there a budget limit?
  • How many people can go?
  • Does it have to be one of these places?

If this happens, just encourage them to decide for themselves who they would take, where they would go, and what would be the budget limit. There are no right or wrong answers, this is simply a way to learn about each other. Moreover, picture ourselves somewhere we want to be which might just put us in a good mood for our meeting.
