Team Building Activity: 5 Ways to Connect at 11:11 on 11/11
Ways to Connect with Your Team
Ways to Connect with Your Team

Did you know that many people believe the numbers 11:11 are linked to luck and making wishes? In numerology, the number 11 is powerful, and it represents inspiration and enlightenment. Some believe when you see the numbers 11:11 it is an opportunity to manifest by focusing on your desires. Others believe these numbers are connected to global consciousness and our connection with others. I’d like to share a positive team building activity that takes just a few minutes.

On November 11 at 11:11 AM (11/11 at 11:11 AM), call attention to the time, pause the meeting, and ask everyone to do ONE of the following:

  • Make a wish.
  • Express a hope.
  • Give thanks.
  • Reflect.
  • Express an intention.

Depending on the size and culture of the people in your meeting, this can be done quietly and independently, or you can ask each person to share it with the team.

Reflection From the Past

Back on November 11, 2011, I was the Vice President of Programs for the Southeast Association of Facilitators. We had a meeting with at least 60 people in attendance. With permission from our presenter, I jumped up at 11:10 AM (intentionally and dramatically) and announced it was about to be 11:11 AM on 11/11/11 and asked everyone to take a minute in silence to think about what they desired for the next year.

This was a group of facilitators and coaches, so they loved this. Everyone was smiling and energized after that minute. Now every year on November 11, I remember that special shared moment.

Consider what you might do at 11:11 AM on 11/11. Surprise your team with this team building activity because just a little positivity goes a long way.  😊
